Abstract

Indonesia has a very large territory and is supported by a variety of natural resources that have the potential to be processed and utilized. Tourism is a planned trip, which is carried out individually or in groups from one place to another with the aim of obtaining a form of satisfaction and temporary pleasure. The data collection method used in this study is the observation method, the interview method, the documentation method. The results of the study are entitled Promotion of Lake Tanah Mas as a Water Tourism Recreation Area in Banyuasin, using descriptive research methods and a qualitative approach, followed by interviews. various kinds of promotion and marketing known in the five main communication elements, namely: Advertising (advertising), Sales promotion (Sales Promotion), Public Relations (public relations), Personal selling (personal promotion), direct marketing (direct marketing). From the discussion above, it can be concluded that a promotion is very closely related to social media because with social media, the spread of promotion and marketing will be easy to do using descriptive research methods and a qualitative approach, followed by interviews.
